Welcome!
I’m Greg, the Wisconsinite soy candle crafting enthusiast behind this blog. It’s exciting for me that you’re here.
I’m on a journey of discovery in the world of soy candle making, and I can’t wait to share the experience with you.
My goal is to be your companion on your own candle-making journey.
I aim to provide you with well-researched content, share what works for me (and what fizzles), and connect with you as we learn and grow together.
You’ll find a wealth of information, tips and inspiration here.
I’ll tell you a little secret…
I’ve occasionally received candles from friends, only to think they looked too expensive nice to burn often. So, I would stash them away thinking I’d use them for a special occasion “someday”.
Well, someday never seems to come. And it turns out I was actually shelving potentially bad-for-my-health paraffin wax candles to boot! My friends meant well.
No more.
I am willing to put in the effort (and endure the learning curve) to make my own awesome, eco-friendly soy candles that I will be proud to burn, and not have the guilt trip. This blog is my canvas, where I’ll be documenting every step of this candle-making journey, and I’m thrilled to have you join me on this adventure.
Time to grab the matches!
When I’m not busy with candles and exploring, you’ll find me taking care of my son as a stay-at-home dad, editing photos in Adobe Photoshop (since version 2.5, before non-destructive editing was even a thing) and biking the local trails with my family.
Being a creative kind of guy, I’m really excited about the DIY aspect of candle making. I think it will also provide moments of calm in my busy days.
I believe that the best blogs are not just a source of information but a place where a community forms. So, feel free to share your insights, ask questions, and engage with me and fellow readers. Let’s build a supportive and creative community together.
Thank you for being here. I can’t wait to begin this candle-making adventure with you.
Happy candle making!
Greg
